Went to Bangkok with Joni, 4D and Clever last August. Had lots of fun, did lots of walking and sight seeing, took lots of photos, quite a lot of eating and drinking etc. This was my 2nd time to Bangkok and i recommend you to go, it's a safer place and quieter than manila. But both countries are great indeed! Some pics of testimonials. More pics to come soon, after i got them from Joni. Joni bagi gmbrs!

2nd Day (11 July) - First timer in Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) and as MGK9's

Huargghhh woke up at 8 i think... got a good warm shower and man! the breakfast was fantastic! i always enjoy a good variety of breakfast. Love to make my choices on food..well that's why im a large-O. Anyway, we planned to head for SCV today just to get the feel around and of course (well actually) to have our free lunch! yeah the organiser prepared lunches for every single person who is attached to RWMF as volunteer..oh as well as bfasts and dinners oh and suppers.... superb!

Hang out 4 a while with Silvanus at the entrace who flew from Singapore to be part of the MGK9. I think it was his 2nd time here if im not mistaken.. Dam* we could not enter cos' we havent got the wrist band from Leo (MGK9's big boss)...bebunyi perut geng...lapar

An hour later, Leo came with the cute wristbands and by this time my stomach really made a grumbling sound..grumbling kelaparan. Should've listened to Mel B about the wrist bands tp ko pun nda firm, camana? Hehehe..jan jua marah.

Really-really glad to be in SCV... after lunch we pun jalan-jalan and we discovered:

  • Rumah melanau yang saaaaaangat besar dan tinggi, we got in and wow, really superb. Tapi ada satu bilik yg banyak bantal dan tilam but there was no way in jadi peeking thru the wall seja..
the melanau house, tu nah sa baru bgn buka tingkap rumah....
huarggghhh...baru bangun eheks!
  • Rupa-rupanya ada lagi yg lebih besar i.e orang ulu long house..didnt get in hehe
  • Coffee bean stall... pa lagi di serbu terus kerana these 4 ppl from KK adalah peminat coffeebean..
  • Ada arabic food stall..
  • A very hot day...but people are still interested to be in SCV especially to join the music workshop...
  • The main stage area was still under construction and maintenance... geez
  • Heineken is the co-sponsor of RWMF
2.30pm: Brrpp... we had our lunch at the mango tree.. it's not literally a mango tree. The food stall where organiser and volunteers eat n drink is called The Mango Tree. Ok fellas..let's go back to our room and have some rest n sleep b4 the big event tonite...

4.30pm: Hup hup! Beraksi di main entrance...menjaga crown dan beg2 mereka sekali...haha! It's funny to see their reactions over the security rules. Some of them were cool when we HAVE to check their bags, some were just so defensive like we are some kind of police or private investigator..some just curious what we were looking for in their bags. Well, basically no outside food and drinks are allowed in the premise, n also perhaps some of crowds may bring in weird and dangerous stuffs. But all is good.

Highlight at 8.30pm: Our PM and his wife were also in the event and they must really like international concert since they stayed in for the whole 1st day concert...i think they left at around 11.30pm... Sarawak CM were with them all the time of course.

1.30am: Punya penaaat kaki ini....and mengantuk..Off to the resort...

2.00am: zzzzzz........

Rainforest World Music Festival ‘The RWMF’

I’ve written a short one on this but mel b n ladybird said its too short. Actually I felt it is too short too so here goes….

1st Day (10 July) – Travelling downsouth to other part of BorneoKuching here we come!

Well we were actually going to Santubong, the place of heaps and happenings.. heap Mount Santubong indeed! Yes, Santubong is the place you want to be annually sometime in July. Sarawak Cultural Village located in Santubong is a very very nice place and with RWMF on, it is definitely a colourful surroundings. Mandy, Lyn, Mel B n I were actually invited by our Miri friend to become volunteers in the RWMF as the security of the event wooohoo! Attached with MGK9 company for 3 days as a security taking care of the whole event and area, I had great fun and felt privileged (still do) to be part of the team. I’m sure Mandy, Lyn n Mel feel the same! Come on guys say something.

OK It's 11 sumting.... Hello hello Santubong!! What a nice place to be.. but what a weird looking lobby for such a nice resort... astaga patutlah, the cab stopped in front of the event hall pula, so we had to walk a bit to reach the lobby but it was ok... WOW nicely decorated! we are really in the RWMF area. 30 minutes later, we met with ladybird, friend from miri..a very cool lady. Ok lapar la pulak...we headed for lunch which was good, nothing special (it's hotel food) but still they were all tasty. Hmmm...i have the habit to tell my story according to what really happened... but basically after lunch:
  • checked in the room...big room with 2 big beds for 4 of us, Lyn, mandy, mel n me..

on the way to the lobby for some action after checking in..
  • played pool n beering
Large-O: huh huh...sa laini yg besemangat... misti mo manang Dik: uiiii...sa blum ready lagi..blum lagi sa kasi bagus rmbt sa.. Lyn: huh huh misti mo manang jua ni...
  • after pooling then we headed for dinner... makan lagi..masarap po'
  • karaoke! - ok this one i hv to tell, since karaoke is in the lobby area, meaning open space, n lots of guests.. we have to sing in a slow tempo plus with low volume.. imagine singing bon jovi's never say goodbye in that manner....and It's My Life...fuhh!
  • ended up sleepy... a good thing though
We got a room attached to Ladybird n Kat's room...good thing. And they are really great people! I was actually pretty blur about the whole thing like where to start, what to do next but they really understand and helped us much... well maybe just me since the others didnt really asked much...they knew already what is next perhaps.. CREDIT TO U MIRI FRIENDS! Note: Mel B n Dik... i'll be using some of ur pics to be posted here...photo credit will be published..

Oil Price Hike - the scene in Sandakan

I was about to get ready for outside dinner when my friend texted me about the oil price hike. In my thoughts, okay i will go and fill up my tank before 12midnite tonite. I picked up my friend who lives just 10 minutes away and ready to hit the gas station. Wow wow i never seen this so many ppl like to 'hang out' in gas station before. The area just suddenly filled up with human beings. So i decided to go to the next one...mm mm mm.. the same scene, and its even worse. I stopped in the middle of the road just to take a picture of the scene. Didnt manage to get a good pictures but bulih lah..No can do. i dont think i am lucky tonite. My stomach was grumbling for food and to wait is just a pain in the arse..so i decided to just hit the gas station tomorrow and be a slave of the government. so we headed to the cafe and enjoyed our food, beer and wifi.

Today i heard from my friend that there was a quarrel in one of the stations where people really got into physical fight...cos the watch was about to strike 12am...hah! interesting scene... nevertheless, here is the photo..

the rest of the days in Philippines

sebenarnya sa lupa sudah apa aktiviti kami di cna...tp yg sa ingat the last nite kami cna, ada juga pigi the largest mall in Asia iaitu Mall of Asia (MoA). waduh mmg besar ahh..basically you can find anything here..we hang out at the waterfront with Ichu and Amor...they are such good friends. I miss them already. From Malate you can take the cab for 20 minutes ride to MoA, the cost is about 100+pesos. Ada juga kami try makanan dr Goldilocks ai sedapp ahh...Maka sila try Polvoron - sgt sedap. And another bar that i recommend you to go is Indios located in Malate. There are good bands playing...i think i mentioned this before in my friendster's blog about my last trip to Manila...but sometimes the band sucks. Then sempat lagi sa pigi ke Mr. Lady bar sekali lagi dan hang out with the 'girls'...mmg best la. bah tu seja lah...nanti klu pigi sambung lagi crita..

A true story of courage

There was no expression on Teacher James’ face. He distributed the classroom work for us to do. It was Bahasa Melayu class and we get to...
